Reconciliation

“Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained.” – John 20:23

In the sacrament of reconciliation, sins are absolved and one’s relationship with God is renewed and strengthened.  Penitents receive the grace to reform their lives, and it is through this reconciliation that one is placed in a state of grace after falling into serious sin.  Essential elements of the sacrament of reconciliation are: contrition or sorrow, confession, the act of penance, and absolution.  If anyone needs help, particularly if he or she has been away for some time, he or she may ask the pastor, and he will help by “walking him/her through” the necessary steps.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE – The Catholic Church, and especially All Saints Parish, clasps sinners to her bosom, understanding that all are sinners – at once holy and always in need of purification.  All Saints offers the sacrament of reconciliation regularly on Saturdays from 3:30 to 4:30 pm or by appointment.  Anyone desiring a special appointment, or to talk further about reconciliation, is encouraged to contact the pastor.
