Music & Choir

“Come, let us sing joyfully to the Lord.” – Psalm 95

The goal of All Saints Music Ministry is to inspire parishioners to join in praising God through song, “to evoke the presence and power of God through the beauty of music,” and to draw people closer to God and His Church through the power of music.  (J. Michael McMahon, America, April, 2008)

Saturday Vigil Mass

The vigil choir provides music and singing at the 5:00 pm Saturday mass and is also available to sing at parish funerals.  The Vigil and Sunday choirs unite in celebrating Christmas at the Music Ministry’s Annual Christmas party.  The celebration includes a covered-dish dinner and a Christmas carols and hymns sing-along.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE – All are welcome to join the vigil choir.  Rehearsals are: 3:30-4:30 on Thursday afternoons and also at 4:00 before the vigil mass on Saturday.  Those interested may simply come to rehearsal or contact Kaye Lewis for further information.

Sunday 11:00 Mass

The Sunday Music Ministry consists of three choirs:

1. Adult Choir – Sings on the weekends that the children or teens do not sing at mass.  The choir consists of lead cantors and singers.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE – On the Sundays when the children are not singing, the adult choir rehearses at 10:00 am for thirty minutes prior to mass.  All are welcome to join.  Those interested may come to rehearsal or contact Cecilia Carlson for further information.

2. Teen Choir – Sings once a month on Sundays at the 11:00 am mass.  Singing and rehearsal dates and times are yet to be determined. The first rehearsal will be announced in the church bulletin.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE – All teens are welcome to participate in this fun, upbeat ministry.  Those interested may come to the announced rehearsal.

3. Children’s Choir – Sings once a month on Sundays at the 11:00 am mass.  The children sing throughout the entire mass and even sing cantor solos when possible.  Rehearsals are on Sunday morning, immediately following Faith Formation classes, and last twenty to thirty minutes.  (Children’s choir follows the Faith Formation schedule, and when there is no Faith Formation, there is no children’s choir rehearsal.)

HOW TO PARTICIPATE – Children, age five to twelve, are invited to participate in this joyful, lively choir mass that has become a parish favorite.  Those interested may come to rehearsal or call for further information.
