Extraordinary Ministers

“For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.” – 1 Corinthians 11:26

The bishop, priest, and deacon are the Ordinary Ministers of the Eucharist.  Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are members of the laity called to become servants to the other members of the Body of Christ.  Formally commissioned by the pastor, Extraordinary Ministers assist the priest in the distribution of the Body and Blood of Christ to parishioners during the sacrifice of the mass.  Extraordinary Ministers also assist the priest by bringing Holy Communion to parishioners who are homebound, in hospitals, and nursing homes.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE – In order to become an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, a parishioner must be a confirmed Catholic in full communion with the Catholic Church.  Candidates must also attend at least one training session at All Saints Church and receive the pastor’s blessing and commission.  Anyone interested in participating in this ministry should contact the Pastor.
